How ETS2 can be effectively implemented in Central and Eastern European countries? Come listen and discuss as the EU advances its climate policies, these countries face specific challenges and opportunities related to affordability, energy systems, and public acceptance. Registration form.
Panel on carbon pricing for buildings and transport in Central and Eastern Europe, future reforms, and member state positions, with Q&A.
- This panel discussion will explore how ETS2 can be effectively implemented in Central and Eastern European countries. As the EU advances its climate policies, these countries face specific challenges and opportunities related to affordability, energy systems, and public acceptance.
- The discussion will focus on how CEE countries can design policies that are both ambitious and socially fair, while supporting the transition to cleaner energy.

café collaborations: Housing accesible to all-old and young?
This Thursday, March 12, Prague will host an English-language debate entitled Café Collaborations: Housing Accessible to All – Old and Young? Reality or Utopia? Together with experts from Austria, Spain, and the Czech Republic, we will explore why affordable housing in Czechia continues to be such a challenge and what we can learn from the experiences of other European countries.
The long-term shortage of affordable housing in the Czech Republic is an urgent problem. It is closely linked to energy poverty, the concentration of job opportunities in larger cities, and rapidly rising real estate prices, which have outpaced wage growth.
What role should the state play, what works abroad, and how can affordable housing be built in the long term? Come and discuss a topic that fundamentally affects the quality of life of both younger and older generations.

Briefing pro média: “Jak na bydlení v Česku dopadne Green Deal a jak si zatím Češi oblíbili dotační programy? Výsledky výzkumu o možnostech šetrné renovace budov v ČR”
Česká veřejnost je rozdělená. O téma klimatické změny se zajímá a zároveň ho považuje za závažný problém necelá polovina Čechů a Češek. Některá navrhovaná systémová řešení jsou ale často veřejností přijímaná zdrženlivě. Výzkum projektu JustGreen uskutečněný v zemích V4 se zabýval tím, jak lidé změny vnímají a jak do debaty o dekarbonizaci ekonomiky zapojit veřejnost více.
K dosažení klimatických cílů v oblasti bydlení by bylo třeba ztrojnásobit stávající tempo renovací. Investovat do snížení energetické spotřeby svého domu nebo bytu se podle našeho šetření chystá v nejbližších letech zhruba čtvrtina veřejnosti. Představíme i řadu dalších dat a zjištění, například jakým bariérám čelí lidé, kteří zatím renovaci neplánují.

Self SDG Festival
This event is considered the project’s Climate Assembly.
The Self SDG Festival is a one-day event dedicated to sustainability, education, and active public participation in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through an engaging mix of expert discussions, creative workshops, and interactive activities, the festival creates space for meaningful dialogue and learning across generations.
A key part of the program is an expert roundtable, where professionals from various fields will discuss challenges and solutions related to sustainable living. This session will also introduce the JustGreen project (CERV-2023-CITIZENS-CIV 101147371), which aims to engage citizens of the Visegrad countries in discussions and public activities around decarbonization in three critical areas of daily life: housing, transport, and the job market. The project explores how people experience and respond to climate-related changes and policies, identifying real-world barriers that individuals and communities face when adapting to or implementing climate-friendly measures.

Az utóbbi években Debrecen az akkumulátorgyártás egyik közép-európai központjává vált. A beruházások azonban jelentős vitákat váltottak ki a helyi lakosok körében, nem pusztán arról, hogy a gyárak milyen hatással vannak a környezetre és az egészségre, hanem arról is, hogy mennyire vonják be a lakosságot a döntéshozásba.
Kiknek a véleménye számít a nagyberuházásokban? Milyen lokális hatásai vannak a gyáraknak? Hogyan lehet bevonni a lakosságot a döntéshozásba?
